Instructional Design and Distance Learning offers support through a variety of programs to provide instructors with the tools and resources to develop and deliver engaging high-quality, online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses and modules. Mission & Goals

Instructional Design and Distance Learning (IDDL) provides guidance and leadership for teaching in the online environment and delivering engaging high-quality courses, while providing support for the use of educational technology and promoting innovative practices to improve the quality of educational experiences. Our goals are to:

  • Organize professional development opportunities on a monthly basis through a variety of delivery methods (groups, individual and targeted populations) online or in person. 
  • Strengthen teaching practices to create innovative and efficient strategies through instructional design principles and best practices for integrating technology. 
  • Promote high quality online and hybrid course design and development in support of student success through facilitation of workshops and a course design review process. 
  • Provide instructional design and technical assistance daily through website resources, knowledge base articles, and service requests in the IT Portal to encourage a self-service model of support.
  • Value participation in professional development for staff to keep pace with higher education and technical trends for teaching and learning.
  • Create a caring and supportive team environment to enhance efficiencies and positive motivation to support office goals.
  • Provide support for compliance regarding state, federal, and local guidelines related to online.
