Committees
The Director of Instructional Design and Distance Learning (IDDL) serves as chairperson for two committees, the Online Oversight and Readiness Committee and the Digital Learning Environment Task Group. Members of IDDL also serve on these committees to support these projects and initiatives in support of the Strategic Plan.
Mission
The committee is responsible for advancing distance education initiatives that directly support the institution’s mission, values, and strategic objectives. They support quality online education at Buffalo State University by ensuring policies, procedures, and resources are in place and that there is a continuous commitment to improving student learning and success in the online environment.
Charge
Identify online education strategic goals and a plan to enhance online learning at the college.
Recommend online policies and procedures to ensure quality delivery of programs and courses to meet state, federal, and accreditation policies and guidelines.
Encourage and promote innovation and best practices for emerging technologies in support of distance learning

Goals
The new Digital Learning Environment (DLE)/Learning Management System (LMS) Stakeholders Committee at Buffalo State University will:
- Participate in SUNY & Desire to Learn (D2L) webinars and events to learn about the products to be procured and the system-wide implementation
- Explore the new SUNY Digital Learning Environment to understand the functionality and benefit of the system while also identifying challenges that courses may face
- Serve as a point of contact within the academic schools and offices to communicate information and relay any questions and concerns back to the committee
- Advise on campus decision-making for new DLE/LMS such as functionality and training & resource creation.
