The Fostering Innovation in Teaching with Technology (FITT) Academy is an intensive hands-on project-specific faculty development event jointly sponsored by Resources for Information,
Technology and Education (RITE) and the Professional Development Office. This unique opportunity is designed for full time faculty or lecturers to launch a faculty community of practice focused on advancing teaching with technology.
The inaugural FITT Academy was held June 6 – 10, 2016.
The 2016 FITT Academy was a roaring success! More than 20 project abstracts were received and 8 projects were selected based on:

Project: Explore online scavenger hunts to enhance interactive experiences for students

Project: Investigate 3D modeling software in a virtual reality environment to enhance spatial understanding using Google Cardboard

Project: Use Camtasia to create instructional videos for BIO 303 & identify additional supplemental media

Project: Develop faculty guide for OER adoption in their courses and apply creative commons license to share with the BSC community
